Oscar L Alexander is a fine art artist working in many mediums, specialising in analog photography, painting and sculptural work.
His inspiration is drawn from textures and colours of nature, emotions and the human anatomy.
EXISTING BETWEEN ABSTRACT AND REALISM
Oscar L Alexander has worked in the creative industry his whole life, most time spent working in fashion, ranging from creative director of fashion magazines to modelling and hair & makeup artistry (working in fashion, film and advertising and with celebrities & royalty), all of which finally led him to photography.
After over a decade spent in London, UK, he relocated to Barcelona, Spain, where he rediscovered his passion for painting and drawing, which was his dream job as a child. He even had a painting he made, a portrait of his teddybear, at the age of 3, hanging in a governmental building in Stockholm, Sweden, for at least 10 years, and it might still do.
His inspiration is drawn from, anatomy, emotions, history and nature, which you can clearly see in his work. Many artworks have their roots in his own life experiences, normalising mental health and also not only normalising, but desexualising the nude body as well as going up against the misogyny within art.
His world is a mix between abstract and realism, and people often say that his work is very multi layered, you end up discovering something new every time you look at a piece.
Oscar has had various solo and group exhibitions in Spain and the UK.
